Memorial Day Message

Today we remember the service and sacrifice of our brave men and women of the Armed Forces of these United States.  So many men and women have volunteered their lives on our behalf, to secure liberty and defend the American way of life.

Many did not ask for anything in return, only the chance to do what they felt in their heart was right, and did so with little or no complaining.  I’ll never forget the high spirits of all the Marines and Navy Corpsmen I worked with in the eight years I served in the Corps.

I also cannot forget the names or the faces of the brothers lost to us.  I know that in this war there have been far fewer casualties than in other wars, but that does not diminish their service, or their sacrifice on our behalf.

Today I remember each and every one of them, that stood up bravely and said that they would take the stand.  Each one of them braved the enemy fires, risked driving the dangerous roads full of road side bombs, and did so with a smile, because they knew they were doing a good thing.

I miss them deeply, and not a day goes by that I don’t think of them in some way.  Each American is affected due to the sacrifices of those who currently serve, those who have since had their end of service, and those who paid the ultimate calling for liberty.

Take a moment today away from the barbecue grills and reflect on the many souls in heaven that gave up their lives for us to be here today.  This is a time to reflect and admire those men and women.  I know that the memory of those heroes I served with will be burned into my memory forever.

Also take a moment and reflect on the words of Taps, the song played for military funerals.

Day is done, gone the sun,  From the lake, from the hills, from the sky;  All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.

Fading light, dims the sight,  And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright.  From afar, drawing nigh, falls the night.

Thanks and praise, for our days,  ‘Neath the sun, ‘neath the stars, neath the sky;  As we go, this we know, God is nigh.

Sun has set, shadows come,  Time has fled, Scouts must go to their beds  Always true to the promise that they made.

While the light fades from sight,  And the stars gleaming rays softly send,  To thy hands we our souls, Lord, commend

Take the moment this day to recommit yourselves to liberties call.  Do not allow the sacrifice of the hundreds of thousands of our servicemen to have been in vain.  They did so much so that we may live in peace.  We owe them everything, and that means we must continue their cause on the home front.

Do not be afraid to be proud of the red, white, and blue each one of them was proud to serve under, and which was draped over their coffins when they returned home with honor.

May God bless all who have passed in the service of America, and keep a place for them in heaven by his side.  They gave all, so that we could be able to even speak today.

Inspired by God

I feel the need to write again tonight because of the many things going on in this political tempest we have before us in this day and age.  I get the feeling to speak out and when the feeling comes there is only one way to get rid of it, and that is to put my fingers to the keyboard and let the words inspired by our Lord be known.

I am a patriot, as I have seen many of you on this site are.  I have had the wonderful chance to talk to literally thousands of you, and it has been the deepest honor of mine to be able to hear the concerns the citizens of this country have.  And so many of us have the same concerns.

We cannot stand by and let our wonderful Republic continue its slide into oblivion.  We know that this is something we must stand together and fight our absolute hardest against.  I have seen the deep love ardent patriots have for this nation, and I love each and every one of them for it.

We need to remember that our Constitution is a document written by some of the greatest men the world has ever known, and that this document was inspired by God.  His influence helped our Founding Fathers put pen to paper and write the most significant paper in the way a government should operate.  It has some flaws, as all things made by man have, because we are not perfect like our Lord above, but compare it to every other founding document of any country and you can see the true liberty given to the people, and not the power to the government.

Too many of our politicians have forgotten our God and that our rights are granted to us immediately upon birth, that all men are created equal, and that each and every one of us have the opportunity for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  These are not rights given to us by those who seek to rule over us, but they are given to us, as our birth right, from our Creator in Heaven.

We do need to start really taking a look at those who are running in this election at all levels.  The local, state, and federal elections and who we pick is going to determine the fate of our country.  We need to ask ourselves who is going to represent the ideals of liberty and cast down the current path of tyranny?

The men who wish to secure our liberty, as God intended, are the men and women that need to be in office.  Those who wish to serve the people and not subvert our national sovereignty to foreign entities or subject the people of these United States to the socialist ideals that have failed time and time again in every country they have been tried in.

The one thing I am going to ask all of you to do after you read this, is to find our everyone who is running in your area, find out about them, and then pray.  Ask our Lord for his Spirit to guide you in the course you should take come November.  His word is absolute, and if we listen to His voice when we pray, we will know we made the right choice.

May God bless everyone and safeguard our country and our way of life.

Bring Government Back Home

The closer civil government is to the people, the more responsible, responsive, and accountable it is likely to be. The Constitution, itself, in Articles I through VI, enumerates the powers which may be exercised by the federal government. Of particular importance is Article I, Section 8 which delineates the authority of the Congress.

The government was clearly established as a government of limited authority, note how it is said limited, as in not able to govern every aspect of American lives. The Tenth Amendment to the Constitution specifically provides that: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Over the last few decades, the limitations of government power imposed by the Constitution have been eroded. Preservation of constitutional government requires a restoration of the balance of authority between the federal government and the States as provided in the Constitution, itself, and as intended and construed by those who framed and ratified that document.

I pledge to be faithful to this constitutional requirement and to work to restore to the States and to the people their rightful control over legislative, judicial, executive, and regulatory functions which are not Constitutionally given as powers to the federal government.

With this in mind, I will push for the repeal of the 17th amendment, giving power of choosing Senators back to the States’ respective legislatures, work to minimize government offices (EPA, Department of Education, etc.) by removal or severe limitation of the powers granted these sorts of programs.

I also pledge that any bill that comes before me that has special interests for Senators and Congressmen to exempt them from the legislation they are trying to force on the American people will be vetoed.

Craig’s Weekend Address 5/13/2012

I am one of those men who is never going to beat around the bush and give some political half answer.  I speak my mind, and I am very direct.  And I have something I would like to say today.

I am tired of all the government pretending that our people do not exist, and that they are the only ones that know what is good for us, because of their obvious superior intellect.  They have their high degrees, many of them lawyers, but not one of them seems to be smart enough to do what the people that they were elected to represent want.

Just look at the Senators.  I have seen a few, mostly Republican, proposing great budgets, but these are blocked every single time by the liberal, socialists that plague our government.

In all my time of being politically active, in the commentary section of life, I have received only one response from a Senator.  Mike Lee, a tea party Republican out of Utah (my home state).  He is the only one who has given me a response, and not an automated one either.  His office actually is considering one of my proposals.  It’s about time.

Likely this effort will fail, but I will not give up in this endeavor, just as many of you will not give up.  I am going to keep asking the American people to give all they can into rebuilding this Republic.  We cannot falter, we cannot fail.

I know that many of you are frustrated, I have talked to thousands of you across this great nation.  I have received emails, phone calls, and letters with your concerns, and I am here to tell you that I have heard you, and I will not quit.  I will continue to fight on your behalf.  I ask that you do the same.

I am here to support all of you in regaining our lost liberties, and move us away from these socialist ideals of tyranny and oppression.  To rid ourselves of this big government staring down at us on a daily basis, finding more and more ways to restrict our freedom.

Stand with me America!  I will keep giving plans of action.  I will keep answering your questions and concerns.  I will help you forge this country into something strong again.  I will never give up on my oath I made to protect our Constitution.  Your freedom is what I care about, because I know what it is to have all your rights taken away.  I do not want to see a single American citizen face that.  I will fight with all that I have on your behalf.

I ask you today America, will you stand with me?  Will you do what is necessary to preserve our liberty?  These questions were faced by many generations before us, and they answered that they would.  The politicians have corrupted our great nation.  They have perverted our Constitution.  Take the stand with me.  We cannot surrender to them.

We need to hold them accountable for their misdeeds.  We must vet each and every candidate that comes out to represent us.  My pledge to you, as a former serving Marine, is that I will be upfront and honest with you.  We must hold all other present and future candidates to that standard of integrity!

Remember that our fore fathers fought and died for your liberties.  They refused to surrender.  Let us remember to have the mindset of Liberty or Death.

Sanctity of Life

I wanted to take a moment and let you know where I stand on the issues of sanctity of life.  To explain why I believe all this, I have been a Christian Pastor for several years, and a prayer leader for my men in Iraq.  I believe that we must protect life, and not wastefully cast it aside for “women’s rights.”

The Declaration of Independence states:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”.

The Preamble of the Constitution states a purpose of the Constitution to be to:

“secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity”.

I affirm the unalienable right of Life to be secured by our Constitution “to ourselves and our Posterity“. Our posterity includes children born and future generations yet unborn. Any legalization of the termination of innocent life of the born or unborn is a direct violation of their unalienable right to life.  They will also never be able to have liberty or the pursuits of happiness.

The pre-born child, whose life begins at fertilization, is a human being created in God’s image. The first duty of the law is to prevent the shedding of innocent blood. It is, therefore, the duty of all civil governments to secure and to safeguard the lives of the pre-born.  Just look at the fact that the tiny life has a heartbeat, moves, and starts to think and favor voices (evident once they are born).

To that end, the Constitution of these United States was ordained and established for “ourselves and our posterity.” Under no circumstances should the federal government fund or otherwise support any state or local government or any organization or entity, foreign or domestic, which advocates, encourages or participates in the practice of abortion. We also oppose the distribution and use of all abortifacients.  If you sleep with someone, you take the risks associated with it, including pregnancy.

No government should legalize the taking of the unalienable right to life without justification (and a baby getting in the way of a career is not a justification for the death of an innocent child), including the life of the pre-born; abortion should not be declared lawful by any institution of state or local government – legislative, judicial, or executive. The right to life should not be made dependent upon a vote of a majority of any legislative body.  You made the choice to sleep with someone, and just because it is inconvenient for you, does not mean that you get to kill a child that deserves to have life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

If scientists can determine that new life has been discovered in a remote area of this planet, even when it is a single-celled microbe, and further declare that due to its rarity, this life must be protected, we must extend this to the life developing the womb.

If PETA activists can protest the killing of animal life and try to create and influence laws for “protecting life” how is it we can ignore the life in the mother?

In addition, Article IV of the Constitution guarantees to each state a republican form of government. Therefore, although a Supreme Court opinion is binding on the parties to the controversy as to the particulars of the case, it is not a political rule for the nation. Roe v. Wade is an illegitimate usurpation of authority, contrary to the law of the nation’s Charter and Constitution. It must be resisted by all civil government officials, federal, state, and local, and by all branches of the government – legislative, executive, and judicial.

In office, I will only appoint to the federal judiciary, and to other positions of federal authority, qualified individuals who publicly acknowledge and commit themselves to the legal personhood of the pre-born child. In addition, I will do all that is within my power to encourage federal, state, and local government officials to protect the sanctity of the life of the pre-born through legislation, executive action, and judicial enforcement of the laws of this land.

I condemn the misuse of federal laws against pro-life demonstrators, and strongly urge the repeal of the FACE Acts as an unconstitutional expansion of federal power into areas reserved to the states or people by the Tenth Amendment.

Finally, I also oppose all government “legalization” of euthanasia, infanticide and suicide.

Craig’s Welfare Reform Plan

I posted this before, but have edited this to become a plan that the government can start implementing to reform welfare/food stamps.

Now, before I start on this post, I want everyone reading to know that I am not against helping people in need. If someone really does need help from the government, that is what welfare/food stamps were created for: a temporary assistance until you can get back onto your feet.

I very much believe that we need to make some significant changes to the way government aid is obtained. Too many people take advantage of the system. And they do not face reprecussions when they do. I will outline what I would like to see proposed by the government to change the way this system is run, and make it more cost effecient and worhwhile for our tax dollars that are being used to support people who need help.

We need to end the permanent reliance on government assistance period, unless a person is totally disabled. We cannot continue to pour billions of dollars into people that are not going to help themselves and bring the rest of America down with them.

Step One: Requirements to show job search progress.

The first thing that needs to be done is that job searches must be performed by the person who is receiving help. This needs to be monitored. Even if the person does not get a high end job making six figures, they will be able to provide income that will decrease the amount of government aid they receive. They do this already in Utah when you go on unemployment, I know because I get put on furlough in the job I work every year. We are required to track our job search progress. This needs to be done for all assistance, unless a person is totally disabled.

If that person is on a continued use of assistance, say one year, they need to be placed in a government job. I know plenty of public parks, roads, etc. that need trash picked up. Make the person earn the money they get. If I am going to foot the bill, the person should earn it.

Step Two: Tighten Regulations

We need to have more strict rules when it comes to the receiving of any type of assistance. Here are some of the things I believe should have to happen when applying for aid:

(1) the applicant must be a US Citizen; (2) the applicant must have a government issued picture ID; (3) the applicant must provide their social security card; (4) the applicant must provide their birth certificate; (5) all adults included in the application must provide photo ID in person and proof of citizenship; (6) all minors on the application must have their citizenship information submitted; (7) all adult applicants must apply for a state sponsored work availablity roster of some sort; (8) all adult applicants must submit to a urinalysis to test for drugs; (9) all adult applicants must provide all financial information; (9) all adult applicants will need to provide a budget of current income and expenses.

Now when it comes to the actual aid being provided, when it comes to cash assistance, my plan would call for essentially the applicant, upon approval, getting a bank account for the cash assistance to be deposited. The only authorized transactions allowed to come through the account would be companies that provide medical services, utilities, etc. Included with this would be a debit card, similar to a food card, that can only be used for authorized transactions like diapers, cleaning supplies, etc.

I can not tell you how disgusted I have been seeing a person on assistance using a cash out option to buy cigarettes and beer. This needs to end. If you need help that bad, you don’t need to smoke or drink.

All applicants would be subject to a spending review once a month, to reevaluate their budget. At this time, they would also need to furnish their work search logs, signed by the persons they went to apply, with contact information that is subject to verification.

Step Three: Toughen the Standard

We need to restrict the type of items bought, as I mentioned above. With this, the person on assistance should have to be subject to only certain kinds of food, just as if they were on the WIC program. They should not be able to get the high ticket items. Store brands and basics should be what is allowed on the food card. There is no need for the person to get high priced items.

They should be able to provide good nutrition for their families, but not any food item they want. Soda is not a requirement, nor is candy. Things like this are luxury items. I do not want to foot the bill for people asking for help so that they can buy junk food and soda. And our dollar would be stretched further if there was a limit to the types of food allowed.

Step Four: Educational Requirements

Anyone accepting federal money will need to attend budgey/money saving workshops so they learn how to stretch what they get as far as possible. They need to learn how to spend wisely, save for emergencies, etc. This will help them grow assets and not become a burden on the system in the future. This will actually help them be more successful. Instead of breeding generations dependant on the government, we will give them the tools to make their life execptional and live the American dream.

This I do not think should be a requirement, but a person who is in this situation of needing financial assistance from the government should be able to have access to courses to make them more likeable in the job market.

Providing the tools. It is better to teach a man to fish and have him eating for life, than it is to give him the fish and have him eat one day.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, but I feel that if plans like these began to be implemented we could get this country off the government dependence, and ultimately make us all stronger as a people. It would also eventually save this country billions of dollars.

I would urge you to take these words to heart and begin to press your representatives to get this done. If enough of us say that we have had enough, they will have to listen, or they know they will lose their jobs.

Unfortunately lost a friend

Folks, I am telling you right now, that if you ever plan to associate with me, you had better be honest in what you do.  I lost a trusted friend today because she decided to take advantage of the government handouts.  And I will be reporting her for fraud.

This young woman, who is perfectly capable of work, has gotten cash assistance on the welfare program.  This is not due to her being unable to work or needing help.  As a matter of fact, she had a job less than a month ago, but determined it was easier to live off my tax dollars.

To make matters worse, she reported that she is paying the utilities in the home she lives in, when in fact it is her grandmother who pays the bills.  So her cable she watches is free, her heating is free, her roof is free, and now we assume the burden of 400 dollars a month for her to buy expensive clothing, which she was bragging about last night.

I would have even been more ok if she was buying educational things for her daughter, or getting her daughter into a private school, but she chose Apple Bottom Jeans and Gucci sunglasses on our dime!  This is unacceptable, and not what the welfare program was ever intended for.

We need to reform the entitlement programs in this country, and I urge that all citizens that witness this sort of fraud be exposed for the leeches they are.

Second Amendment

A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

It has been established through the Supreme Court of this nation that it is an individual right to keep and bear arms.  This includes on your person, in your car, in your home, etc. so long as you are a law-abiding citizen and are using the firearm for lawful purposes (such as self-defense and defense of your home).

The government needs to back off all their anti-gun stances.  Who are they to challenge the Supreme Court and the Constitution of this United States?  Hillary, take notes, because that Small Arms Treaty is against our rights to keep and bear even pistols.

In Heller, the Court held that (1) the District of Columbia’s total ban on handgun possession in the home amounted to a prohibition on an entire class of “arms” that Americans overwhelmingly chose for the lawful purpose of self-defense, and thus violated the Second Amendment; and (2) the District’s requirement that any lawful firearm in the home be disassembled or bound by a trigger lock also violated the Second Amendment, because the law made it impossible for citizens to use arms for the core lawful purpose of self-defense.

For someone without a law degree, I find it hard to believe that I am more informed on our Constitution than the Secretary of State.  Or the President, or any other anti-gun lobbyist or Congressman.

It is absurd.  We the people will not allow our guns to be taken.

First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

What part of that don’t you get US Government.  You can’t tell us to take down our symbols of religion, you can’t pass a law saying we can’t say something, you can’t stop us from speaking out against you, we have the right to peacefully assemble, and we are going to petition the living snot out of you until you get this through.

Plain English.  You don’t have to be highly educated to get this.  With all the PhD’s, Masters, and so-forth, you would think there would be an iota of a brain cell in Washington.

But we know your agenda, you want power.  Well, people like me will not let you, and people who support tea party patriots like myself will get our country back.

In the grand scheme of eternal things, our God designed for us a way in which we living here upon this sin-cursed earth could be prepared for divine redemption and Heaven.

As the religious world becomes more and more accommodating to that which is politically correct as viewed by the world’s standards, they become less than honest with truth, even stooping to the place of passing it off as archaic, old-fashioned, or irrelevant, no longer necessary.

Open season has been declared upon the Word of God, especially it would seem by those in government positions, upon those sacred doctrines, upon those that holds its truth’s as precious in their lives.

I say that I am much more interested in pleasing God than I am in being a man pleaser or in being politically correct or well thought of by the religious crowd. I seek to be guided by the principle stated in Gal.1:10.

“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”

When our Lord calls for repentance, it is necessary everyone knows what the term means and what is required of them in the way of repentance.

When you consider that Jesus said, “Except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish” Lk.13:3, it becomes necessary that you both know what the word means and that you do what it requires.

Repentance is defined as compunction for guilt; a reversal of one’s direction.

Compunction is a strong uneasiness caused by a sense of guilt, or a sting of conscience or a pang of doubt aroused by doing something wrong or the idea of wrongdoing. Repentance has been described as a total and complete turn around.

Repentance deals with a turn around in at least three significant areas which are sin (I had denied, now I confess); Self (I was good enough, now I am lost); and Savior (I did not need him, now I cannot live without him).

Repentance is described as a turning.

“And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.” (Acts 9:35) Repentance leaves wickedness and follows godliness, seeking God’s forgiveness. “Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.” (Acts 8:22)

Repentance also deals with conversion to, a becoming like, and, in agreement with God. “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;” (Acts 3:19)

The Word of God has the power to confront a sinner and bring him to humility. The Word, applied by the His Spirit, brings sinners to see themselves as God sees them.

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb 4:12)

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Pet 3:9)

God keeps putting up with and allowing such things to go on, all because of his longsuffering grace.  He has every right to pass judgment upon our ways, but in his longsuffering grace, he waits against that day that we recognize it and respond to it properly.

Repentance is the results of divine workings for no man just makes up his to repent; such a action had it’s origin in Heaven. Just as surely as the Lord brings about that which effects repentance he effectively works in every living person to repent.

The Holy Spirit is massaging your heart and spirit with conviction right now because you need to be turned from what you are. The Spirit is reminding you of both God’s goodness toward you because he is calling you to repentance. He is placing the sacrifice of Christ into your heart, trying to tender it with his love so that you might respond in repentance. We have all heard the story of the old drunk, who beat his boy and cursed his wife until conviction brought repentance to his life and he was a changed man.

That change has literally been played out in tens of thousands of lives across time, as one after another, sinners came to repentance and God changed their personality and their practices.

What happiness to behold that selfish, self-centered sinner be transformed by repentance and wrought into a sweet, serving, caring saint.The world cannot seem to imagine what happens nor how the person was changed but they will have to testify that this man or woman is surely a very different person.

Perhaps the most classic illustration was Saul of Tarsus who was moved from a proud persecutor’s heart to that of a servant’s heart, giving his life that others might hear of Christ and the opportunity of repentance.

One of the first things that happens when repentance effects salvation is that that saved person becomes concerned over the spiritual condition of their loved ones. Caring, Compassion, desire to see others free of sin’s condemnation is one of the strongest witnesses an unsaved person will ever experience. Such caring however, is not limited just to relatives for every redeemed one wants to see others redeemed.

Saul was climbing the ecclesiastical ladder, persecuting Christians until he met the Lord in Acts 9.

“His life was no longer for Paul but was now for his brethren, even to wishing that he could be accursed if it would turn them to Christ. For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:” (Rom 9:3)

We can see that repentance is so necessary in today’s world.  We see people every day, especially in our government that have forgotten God’s word.  We need to be the first to repent, and give ourselves wholeheartedly to God and His Son, and start to hold elected officials accountable.

So let me ask you?

1. Are you a benefactor of repentance?

2. Are you sure that you repented and have been changed by Christ, and,

3. That your life is revealing Christ to others?

4. Who are you living for? If self is your answer, I’d sure do some searching of my soul about the matter of whether I had repentance to my credit or not.
