Back in May the IRS scandal broke when it was learned that IRS employees had been instructed to target Tea Party and patriotic affiliated groups seeking non-profit status. The practice began during the 2010 elections and continued into 2013. Some groups seeking non-profit status were asked for personal information of their people and their supporters, which is not within the IRS regulations. Some were even told to stop certain practices in order to qualify. Many saw the process take up to 3 years to obtain their non-profit tax status, which is nearly unheard of.
From the onset, IRS supervisor Lois Lerner became the target of the scandal as she was in charge of the division targeting the conservative groups. Once Lerner was placed in the spotlight, she was placed on paid administrative leave. Considering the fact that Lerner, an attorney, had worked for the federal government for 30 years and the IRS since 2001, you know that she was making a pretty hefty salary, well over $120,000 per year. That means for the past four months, she’s been making at least $10,000 per month to not work.
However, I don’t see Lerner as being the target of the IRS scandal as much as I see her as the scapegoat for IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman and President Barack Obama. According to publicly released records, IRS commissioner Douglas Shulman visited the White House more than any other member of Obama’s Cabinet. In hearings before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, it was made known that 118 of Shulman’s 157 White House visits were made during the period that IRS agents were intentionally targeting tea party and conservatives. In fact, he visited the White House more times than the combined visits of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius and Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano.
Next Shulman’s 157 White House visits, was acting Secretary of Commerce Rebecca Blank with only 86 visits. Shulman knew about the illegal targeting at least 5 months before the November election and made over 100 White House visits during the times the targeting was occurring. Now we are supposed to believe that Obama knew nothing about the scandal until just recently? This is why the American people have no respect or trust in our government leaders, especially in Obama, our Liar in Chief!
Yet, Lerner is made out to be the scapegoat for them, but I don’t think it is going to hurt her that much financially. This week, Lois Lerner, 62, suddenly retired on Monday effective immediately. There has been a lot of talk on Capitol Hill asking for Lerner to be fired for her role in the scandal. All indications were pointing to her being fired in the very near future. By her retiring suddenly, she will still be eligible to receive her federal pension from 30 years as a federal employee. That means that she will walk away with a very healthy pension that you and I will be paying.
“Her departure does not answer these questions or diminish the committee’s interest in hearing her testimony,”
Sen. Orin Hatch (R-UT) is the top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee also commented about Lerner’s retirement and the investigation of the IRS scandal, saying:
“[Lerner’s retirement] does not mean the investigation is over.”
“Far from it. In fact, there are many serious unanswered questions that must be addressed so we can get to the truth.”
I hope they do continue the investigation all the way to Douglas Shulman and Barack Obama. I am firmly convinced that Obama orchestrated the targeting in conjunction with the inroads made by Republicans in 2010 and their regaining the House of Representatives. Obama hatched the plan and instructed Shulman to carry it out. Shulman then turned to Lerner and her division to do their dirty work. Now they have laid all the blame on her, and it seems that she is graciously accepting the role they gave her. Most likely she is being well compensated with taxpayer money for dong their bidding and I hope and pray that Issa will find evidence to prove me right and use it to bring down America’s most infamous tyrannical and corrupt president.
Next to the White House, the US Senate and the mainstream media, there’s no other more liberal agenda institution in America than the current education system. Over forty years ago, many colleges and universities started heavily pushing their anti-America and anti-Constitution agenda into the minds of vulnerable teens and young adults.
Money has been cut to keep conservative speakers out of college campuses. Right after the shootings at the Navy Yard, David Guth an associate professor of journalism at the University of Kansas professor tweeted:
“#NavyYardShooting The blood is on the hands of the #NRA. Next time, let it be YOUR sons and daughters. Shame on you. May God damn you.”
In the latest display of left-wing socialistic propaganda, William Dorland, director of the Honors College at the University of Maryland, sent out an email to students inviting them to hear former NAACP chairman Julian Bond. In his email, Dorland stated:
“This year, we learned that it is legal to hunt down and kill American children in Florida…”
“This year, the most activist Supreme Court in the history of the United States and radical factions of gun owners, gun manufacturers, and marijuana users are challenging the very fabric of the nation…”
When contacted by FoxNews concerning his email, Dorland responded:
“I didn’t regard it as a political statement, I regarded it as trying to stir some student interest in an activity going on campus.”
“There were three students and a faculty member who asked me not to use such violent or inappropriate language in the future, and I apologized to them because I didn’t want to offend anybody. But I did want to stir things up.”
At least one U of M professor didn’t agree with Dorland & told FoxNews:
“It’s over the top. But very much business as usual on this campus.”
Things like this are a growing trend on college campuses all over the country. College instructors and professors believe they are supreme and that the children sitting in their classes should absorb and agree with everything they say and all of their warped beliefs.
If you saw a number of the videos on ConservativeVideos.com, where college students are asked about different world and national events and people, you’ll soon discover that most of them are clueless. Public schools and colleges want to keep them that way. Just like our public school system, today’s universities are becoming more of a brainwashing institution than one of learning and preparing young adults for the working world ahead of them. It is all about indoctrination, not preparation.
Case in point: it was intended to ensure everyone had health insurance. Sounds wonderful, right? Well, the problem is that the CBO (Congressional Budget Office) has projected that persons without insurance may actually go up, not down.
Here is essentially what is happening. As businesses are being mandated to cover part of any full time employee’s health insurance, they are cutting people back in hours so they don’t meet full time requirements. This is especially true since insurance rates are increasing. The business just can’t afford to take the hit.
Now, there is also the fact that individuals who once had health insurance through their employers that have it cut, they still have to get it according to the individual mandate, or else they will be fined by the IRS.
The problem is, their wages haven’t matched the new bill they now have to pay, so they either suffer with less money and buy insurance, or they don’t buy insurance and then suffer with less money. It’s lose, lose for those individuals.
They also do not qualify for any assistance like Medicare. Why? Because they are over the income threshold. That doesn’t make buying their own insurance any more affordable for them. They will literally be left with less money, no matter what road they choose.
This is just one of the many reasons I will never support this, and want it fully repealed. It is not good for the American people.
Today marks the 226th birthday of our Constitution. It is the single most important document in world history. This was the first document to be restrictive of what the government could do, and changed the face of the earth.
We became the first nation that gave the power to the people as a whole, and not an all powerful central government. It went so far as to enumerate what the government could do, and guaranteed that everything not mentioned was given to the people or the states.
I would ask that all of you take the time to read the U.S. Constitution this day, and recommit yourself to its preservation.
There are many in our nation’s capital as supposed leaders that believe the document is out of date, or some relic that no longer applies. These men and women are statists and wish to have the power themselves. It is time that we fully understand the rights in our Constitution and ensure that we are protecting them.
We must be the enforcers of the limits the Constitution imposes on government. We can no longer sit idly by and allow the government to disobey the oath to preserve and protect that document.
The National Archives website has a copy you can read if you don’t own one. Please take the time to read it. Especially today.
While tattoo artists are complaining that a proposed ordinance will damage their “walk-in” business, a spokeswoman for the DC Health Department says a 24-hour waiting period for tattoos or body piercings is necessary so people are in the “right frame of mind” and don’t regret their decision afterwards. The suggested waiting period is found among 65 pages of proposed regulations for tattoo parlors handed down recently by that department.
Would someone please care to tell me how the “my body, my choice” argument isn’t valid for a tattoo. Or how a right state of mind must be determined in order to get a tattoo, but not abort a child? This is hypocrisy at its finest, and unfortunately, many do not see it as being hypocritical.
Brad Mattes of Life Issues Institute sees a bit of hypocrisy in the proposed ordinance for the nation’s capital. Mattes “One of the main things is they don’t want people staggering into these places drunk or high on drugs or whatever and regretting their decision,” he explains. “But then I thought, Well, why not have a 24-hour waiting period for abortion? – because the ramifications of that decision are so much more severe than a tattoo or a piercing.”
“I think the president can stop it,” Obama said, when asked about the growing income gap. “The problem is that there continues to be a major debate here in Washington, and that is, how do we respond to these underlying trends?”
One must first look at the facts on the ground: we are all given different talents and abilities. For instance, there is no way that I could be a doctor, a mathematician, or a physicist. I don’t posses the drive, or ability to really work with numbers like are needed with those types of jobs. However, I do possess the talent to write, speak, and shoot; all talents I have used in my various jobs.
We are not equal in what we can do, but that doesn’t mean that we cannot find the opportunities to better ourselves and become something greater than we are born into. The main thing on success in the United States is the drive behind the person; how badly they want to achieve their goals. If you want something bad enough, you will pursue it to the ends of the earth, and eventually, you will get what you strive for.
The answer many in the Democrat party has been to take away from those who busted their butts to become successful, and give it to those who do not have the drive to pursue their goals.
I am all about giving a person a leg up, but many policies in the welfare side of things have become more of a lifestyle than that leg up. The intention was to help during hard times, not permanent solution to living.
Redistribution has been tried many times throughout the world and all throughout history, and one thing has become clear.: the longer a society continues to take from those who produce and give to those who refuse to work, the worse the society gets. As more and more people realize they don’t need to work because a social program exists to take care of their every need, they only give the bare minimum or cease entirely.
The way the programs are set up make it impossible to close the gap of income.
This is not to say that people cannot get help when they are hitting hard times. There are things that happen beyond our control. There are layoffs, bankruptcy, medical emergencies, injuries, and a whole myriad of things that can happen to set you back a little bit. That is where the program is good, and I know there are people that only use the system when they have to due to such circumstances.
I have also seen quite the opposite. I have seen people that use the government as their life. No wonder they aren’t millionaires. They aren’t using the opportunity this country gives and making their lives better.
The equality in this country is for opportunity, not outcome. You have a chance to rise, but you also have the chance to fall.
I tried three times before now to run my own business. I failed three times. I tried again, and this time, using what I learned, I was able to create a success. Now, I am no millionaire, but I make due. I pay my bills, and take care of my family. There may be chances to grow eventually, but it took my own dedication to put me where I am today.
The entitlement mentality is responsible for the income gap. And both parties are really to blame. The Democrats for creating the programs, and the Republicans for not standing up to them to create a leg up, not a hand out. That is why we are in the situation we are in.
It is government that has caused the problem, in order to ensure they get reelected. And it is high time the American people wake up to the fact that until you deal with the real issue, there will never be a solution. The problem is the government. The problem are the programs not being properly regulated or having work requirements. The problem is the lack of incentive given, because everything is handed to you these days.
We have a real problem in the nation. So President Obama, you’re right. The problem exists. But what you want to do will further the problem, not solve it.
FACT 1: AR, as in AR15, does not mean “Assault Rifle.” It comes from Armalite, a brand of rifle.
FACT 2: There is no such thing as assault weapon. It is a made up term to scare people who are less informed about firearms. Less than 400 crimes per year are committed with any type of rifle (and that is from the Bureau of Justice Statistics and FBI crime stats). Fewer still by the “scary black ones.”
FACT 3: A thirty round magazine (not clip) is a STANDARD capacity for the AR15. As a matter of fact, most magazines are STANDARD capacity with the firearm they come with. I could spend all day listing the various calibers and firearms with what comes STANDARD from the manufacturer, but the point is, unless it is a drum magazine (beta-mag), they are not high capacity.
FACT 4: There are nearly 100 times more people SAVED by the use of a firearm in stopping crime than by those who are killed or injured in the commission of a crime with a firearm used.
Please learn facts before you start spouting off rhetoric you heard from Moms Demanding Action, Mayor Bloomberg, or the current administration.
Our second amendment is vital for each and every one of us to protect ourselves, our families, and our liberty. The founders knew it, and that is why it is number two in the Bill of Rights. It is no accident that they found it to be the second most important thing to address in the Bill of Rights.
I know many people wanted to go and were not able to attend, so I wanted to bring together as many videos as possible of the speeches. Hopefully their words will inspire you.
Buzz Jacobs – Producer of Benghazi – 911
Dan Bongino – Congressional Candidate from Maryland
Wayne Dupree – NewsNinja 2012
Marcus Kohan – President of Conservative Party USA
Craig Bowden – Congressional Candidate from Utah
Video of a speech by Congressional Candidate Craig Bowden from Utah’s 1st Congressional District.
While the numbers we wanted didn’t show up, I would have to say that overall, the rally for justice in Benghazi went well. The speakers were all spot on with what they had to say, and the groups that did show up are definitely not the type that would be categorized as “sunshine patriots.”
Mitchel Mason, the organizer of the Patriots4America, the organization that put on the Justice for Benghazi rally, definitely did a great job at organizing some very great speakers, including Dan Bongino, Rob Maness, Todd Ceffaratti.
It was sad that not as many showed as were expected. There was a lot of buzz from many on several social media and news agencies, with many people saying they were going to show up. Unfortunately, the thousands that said they would show, ended up being closer to about a hundred or so.
Mitchell Mason attributed the lack of people to complacency, and I can verify this as well. For all the talk I’ve received on Benghazi from my contacts on Facebook, Twitter, and emails, very few backed it up by showing up. The worst part is that there are some followers on Twitter still advertising the event that happened two days ago.
It seems that for all the talk, there is little action in this country.
One highlight was the biker rally that stopped by for us. There were a couple dozen that came by and thanked us for doing the rally. There were also a lot that stated they wish they could have come, but they weren’t being allowed to park their bikes (and the police presence was large and ready to hand out citations).
So there is some truth to what many of the more left leaning blogs are saying about the rally. We certainly fell short of the number that we estimated. And it was lackluster in many of the attendees, including the fact that few would even join at the stage and preferred to stay near the walls instead.
The other positive note was the candlelight vigil that was held. I am glad that happened to honor our nation. We cannot forget attacks when they happen to Americans.
